Cheese Sausage Balls

appetizer or breakfast snack

1. 4 cups biscuit mix

2. 10 ounce sharp cheese, grated

3. 1 pound hot sausage
4. -Wash your hands - then use them to mix up this.

5. -Mix all ingredients together by hand until it is a stiff cohesive dough.

6. -Shape into small balls and place on un-greased cookie sheet close to each other. (These do not rise enough to notice so place very close to each other on cookie sheet.)

7. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes until golden brown. (size of balls determines exact cooking time.


There are many versions of this recipe. Some add a couple of drops of hot sauce or a sprinkle of red pepper. Some use less biscuit mix or more cheese. These tasty treats were part of our wedding reception refreshments in 1970!!
