Cream Cheese Pound Cake

3 sticks softened butter (or margarine) 6 eggs

1 8 ounce cream cheese dash salt

3 cups sugar 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla

3 cups plain flour

Grease and flour tube pan. Preheat oven to 300° F.

Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar together until light.

Add eggs (1 at a time) alternately with flour (1/2 cup at a time) mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

Bake at 300ºfor 1 ½ to 1 ¾ hours – test for doneness with cake tester or slender skewer. Cool and remove from pan. This cake freezes well.
