Layered Salad

Roxi’s Layered Salad

1 head lettuce, torn into bit sized pieces                     Make 2  layers with

1 can sliced, drained water chestnuts                          ingredients in order they are listed.

½ cup thinly sliced onions            

1 ten ounce package frozen peas  

Dressing:  Mix following ingredients together until smooth, then spread over top of layered vegetables.

1 cup mayonnaise

1 cup sour cream

2 Tablespoons sugar  

Topping:    Grated Parmesan Cheese : Sprinkle over mayo dressing on top of salad. May used grated Cheddar Cheese instead of Parmesan or in addition to Parmesan.

May also top with bacon bits or fried crumbled bacon as desired.  

      

Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight ( 8 to 12 hours before serving). Looks great in a clear glass bowl.
