Strawberry Congealed Salad

Buchannan Favorite Strawberry Salad

STRAWBERRY SALAD   

1 large pkg. of strawberry jello

2 cups boiling water

1 pkg. frozen strawberries (16 oz.)

1 can crushed pineapple

1 cup chopped nuts

1 carton sour cream ( 16 oz.)    
 

Dissolve jello in boiling water and add strawberries, pineapple and nuts   

Divide in half.  Pour half in rectangular dish, place in refrigerator to jell. (Leave other half in covered bowl in cool spot, but not in refrigerator)  

When mix in rectangular pan in refrigerator is firm, spread with sour cream, then pour remaining jello mixture gently over sour cream.  (jell third layer

some before adding)   

Return to refrigerator to set. This can be done a day or so ahead of time, or first thing in the morning before an evening meal.

This is really great for dessert as well as for a nice salad with Turkey or pork.
